How long do lamacoids take? Same day, once the proof is approved.
Standard turnaround at Llamacoids is same day. Once you approve the PDF proof, typical jobs are engraved that day in Burlington, Ontario, then shipped by Canada Post or courier or held for pickup at the shop. Large or complex schedules can take longer, and rush timing is available on request.

What does same-day turnaround mean?
It means the plates are engraved the same day the proof is approved, for typical jobs. The engraving itself takes minutes. What takes time is getting the wording, sizes and colours right, which is why every order gets a proof first and why the turnaround is stated in writing on the quote.
What happens between sending a list and getting the tags?
Five steps, and only one of them waits on you.
- Send the list. Email a spreadsheet, panel schedule or marked-up drawing, or build the order in the Lamacoid Builder.
- Get the quote and proof. A line-item quote and a PDF proof come back by email. Anything unclear, such as a hole position or an abbreviation, gets a question rather than a guess.
- Approve the proof. This is the step that starts the clock.
- Engrave and cut. Tags of the same colour and thickness are nested onto a sheet, engraved, then cut out with their holes.
- Pack and ship. Bagged and labelled per panel or per room when the list is organised that way, then shipped or held for pickup.
What slows a lamacoid order down?
Almost always it is missing information, not the engraving. These are the usual holdups:
- Wording that is ambiguous or differs between the drawing and the schedule. Say which revision governs.
- Holes or cutouts without dimensions.
- A colour outside the stocked four, which is quoted on request.
- Round or shaped tags, which are confirmed from a drawing before quoting.
- A proof waiting for approval.
- Very large or complex schedules. Send the required date and the timing gets confirmed up front.
How do I get lamacoids as fast as possible?
Send a complete list and approve the proof quickly. One row per plate, with the wording and line breaks, width and height, colours, quantity and mounting, is the fastest thing to quote. Put the date the site needs the tags on the order, and ask for rush timing if the standard turnaround is not enough.
How long does shipping take?
That depends on where the tags are going. Orders ship from Burlington by Canada Post or courier to anywhere in Canada, and the builder shows Canada Post rates once you enter a postal code. If you are local, pickup at the Burlington shop is free.
Can I get a rush order?
Yes, rush timing is available on request. Tell us the date the site needs the tags when you send the list, so it can be confirmed before the order is placed.
