One directory or individual breaker tags?
Circuit directory plate
Put a circuit number and description on each row of one larger plate. Send the available width and height, the complete schedule and any required text size. The layout needs enough room for the longest description.
Individual identification tags
Use separate plates for breakers, disconnects, feeder sources or panel names. List each unique text entry with its quantity. Keep the format consistent across related equipment.
Common panel identification
- Panelboard name and location.
- Individual circuit and breaker identification.
- Main disconnect and sub-panel nameplates.
- Fed-from and fed-to identification using your supplied information.
- Multi-line circuit directories and matched tag sets.
The lettering is engraved through the surface of the material to reveal a contrasting layer. Material grade, mounting and working conditions still determine suitability for the installation. Tell us if your specification requires documented environmental performance.

Include the exact wording, plate dimensions, quantity, background/text colours and mounting method. For a circuit directory, keep each circuit number beside its description. If the drawing specifies a minimum character height, include it before choosing the plate size.

“12 panel ID tags, 1 × 3 inches, black background with white lettering, adhesive backing. Wording supplied as one entry per plate. Delivery to Burlington; required date included.”

For screw holes, give the hole diameter and centre positions. For adhesive backing, describe the mounting surface and conditions. Do not assume that a tag's mounting method permits drilling or altering electrical equipment; follow the equipment and installation requirements.
Pricing, turnaround and delivery
Plates are priced by area, with final pricing based on the specification and quantity. Standard turnaround is 1–3 business days. Send the required date for large directories or larger orders. Rush timing is available on request.

Does a panel tag need to be engraved?
Send the identification requirements from your project drawings, equipment documentation or authority having jurisdiction. We can quote engraved tags to those details. The choice of an engraved plate by itself does not establish that an installation meets every applicable requirement.
