Custom Engraved Breaker & Panel Labels

Custom-engraved breaker and panel labels identify every circuit, disconnect, and device in an electrical panel with a permanent lamacoid plate that can't peel, smudge, or fade — unlike the printed stickers or handwritten tape they replace. If you need a panel to pass inspection and stay legible for decades, engraved is the way electricians and panel builders across the GTA spec it.

Why engraved beats printed for panel ID

Printed labels and label-maker tape fail in exactly the environments panels live in: heat, vibration, cleaning solvents, and years of hands opening the door. The adhesive lets go, the ink fades, and the directory becomes unreadable right when someone needs it in an emergency.

A lamacoid breaker label is different. The text is engraved through a coloured surface layer to expose a contrasting core — no ink, no printed film. Screw it or rivet it to the deadfront and it stays legible for the life of the equipment. That permanence is also why many inspectors and facility standards won't accept a stuck-on label for panel identification.

What we make

  • Circuit directory / panel schedule plates — full breaker listings engraved on a single plate
  • Individual breaker tags — one small plate per breaker or device
  • Main disconnect and feeder labels — clear ID for service and sub-feed points
  • Panelboard nameplates — panel name, voltage, phase, fed-from, and source
  • Sub-panel and distribution ID — matched sets across an installation

Standard specs

  • Colours: black/white is the electrical standard; white/black, red/white (danger/critical), and yellow/black (caution) are all stocked
  • Thickness: 1/16" for flush panel tags, up to 1/8" for rigid standalone plates
  • Mounting: 3M adhesive backing for quick installs, or pre-drilled holes for screw/rivet mounting on metal deadfronts
  • Sizes: from small 1/2" × 1" breaker tags to full-panel directory plates

Frequently asked questions

Can you engrave a full circuit directory on one plate?

Yes. Send us your panel schedule or circuit list and we'll engrave the complete directory — circuit numbers and descriptions — on a single plate sized to fit your panel door or deadfront, or as individual per-breaker tags if you prefer.

Do breaker labels come with adhesive or screw holes?

Both are available. We supply 3M adhesive backing for fast indoor installs, or pre-drilled holes (typically 1/8" or 3/16") for screw or rivet mounting on metal panels, which is more reliable for permanent identification.

What colour should breaker panel labels be?

Black background with white lettering is the standard for general electrical panel ID. Red/white is used for danger or safety-critical disconnects, and yellow/black for caution. We can match whatever your spec or facility standard requires.

Are engraved panel labels required by code?

Requirements vary by jurisdiction and application, but engraved plates are widely specified because many standards call for permanent, legible identification. Printed stickers are frequently rejected because they aren't considered permanent. Confirm exact requirements with your local authority having jurisdiction.
