Put the right information at the equipment

An equipment nameplate can carry an asset number, equipment name, location, source or maintenance reference. Llamacoids makes engraved identification to your wording, from one replacement tag to a coordinated set for a facility or machine build.

Keep the information useful to the person reading it. A simple asset tag may need only an ID and description. A larger machine plate can carry several fields. Tell us the required wording rather than relying on a photograph to establish equipment ratings.

What to include in your nameplate list

1. Wording for each plate. Keep one entry per unique plate and show line breaks.
2. Quantity. Note repeated plates separately from plates with different asset numbers.
3. Dimensions and units. Give width, height and any required thickness or character height.
4. Background and text colours. Include an existing reference if consistency matters.
5. Mounting details. Specify adhesive backing, holes or both. For holes, provide diameter and centre-to-centre spacing.
6. Working conditions and delivery. Note outdoor exposure, washdown, chemicals, heat, delivery location and required date.

Replacing an existing machine plate

Send a clear photograph and measurements of the existing plate, including its holes. Identify which details should stay the same and which need updating. If the plate contains electrical ratings, serial information or a certification mark, provide the correct source information and identify any authorization needed to reproduce it. We engrave supplied information; a replacement identification plate does not certify equipment.

“Lamacoid” and “lamicoid” are both used for engraved plastic identification. If the specification calls for a particular material grade or documented performance, send that requirement. The product name alone does not establish the material's temperature, UV or chemical rating.

How pricing works

Every plate is priced by its area in square inches, then adjusted for the specification, quantity and any applicable volume pricing, before tax and shipping. A 1 × 3 inch plate has 3 square inches of area; a 2 × 4 inch plate has 8. Use the Lamacoid Builder for your configuration or send the full list for a quote.
