An engraved nameplate is a plate with the wording cut into it, so it can't peel or rub off. We laser engrave nameplates from two-colour acrylic laminate for equipment, MCCs, switchgear, panels, doors and desks. They are made in Burlington, Ontario, usually the same day the proof is approved, and shipped across Canada.

What kinds of engraved nameplates do you make?
Six main kinds. They're all the same material and engraving, and the differences are the size, the wording and how they mount.

What's a lamacoid nameplate?
The same thing, using the Canadian trade word. In Canada, electrical drawings and specs often call an engraved plastic nameplate a lamacoid or lamicoid. If your drawing uses either word, this is the product it means.
Why engrave a nameplate instead of printing one?
A printed nameplate is ink on a surface, and ink can fade or rub off. On an engraved plate the letters are the core colour of the plate itself. That's why plant teams and inspectors accept engraved plates where a sticker gets questioned.
What do you need to quote nameplates?
For each plate: the wording with line breaks, width and height, colours, quantity and mounting. Add the delivery address and the date you need them. Photos help with replacements, but the measurements are what make it fit.

Yes. It's the same word with and without the space.
How long do engraved nameplates take?
Standard turnaround is same day once the PDF proof is approved. Large or complex schedules can take longer, so put your date on the order.
Do you engrave metal nameplates?
No. We engrave two-colour acrylic laminate only.
